My current Jeep has been a range truck
with only necessary maintainance done,
except regular oil changes. I am
attempting to return it to life...I knew
that I was facing a challenge before I
started.
First - the due to excessive
pressure in the valve cover the air filter
was oil soaked to the point the oil was
passing through the filter and getting
into the throtle body. - replaced the air
filter, cleaned everything involved. (not
fixed yet - but I clean after every drive
to keep the mess down and the air filter
clean.)
Second - Replaced the EGR valve
since the one installed was rusted into
two pieces.
Third - Jeep was running
fine until it got up to tempature ~200
degrees then would hesitate everytime I
pushed the gas. I traced that to the cap
on top of the carbon filter (EVAP
canister) which was off - I repaired the
canister cleaned it and verified everthing
was there, secured the cap on the canister
(cap is by the purge signal port) and this
fixed the hesitation problem.
More
later...
