Bought my first jeep in 1991, it was an
1985 CJ with a 4.2L/I6, T176 tranny and
Dana 300 transfer case, loved it. Lifted
it and put 33" BFG MTs on it. Would
go anywhere for me even though it had
stock rearends. Eventually rusted out
around the floorboards and rear corners,
should of done the body work but just let
it sit. While it started to rust I bought
a 78 CJ7 Golden Eagle with a 304/V8 and
auto transmission/Quadratec transfercase.
Was just a beater and woodsburner I picked
up at a local junkyard and fixed up enough
to run then fourwheel a bit. Never lifted
it even though I bought a Skyjacker
4" kit that just sat around.
3rd
Jeep bought a 1995 YJ Wrangler new from a
dealership. Put a trail rack on it, a
supertop, some 30 inch tires, used it for
moderate fourwheeling and camping but not
hard useage because it was my sole means
of transport.
Now I have a 2005 TJ
Rubicon which I am slowly building up to
be 4wheeled right. Testing out different
manufacturers and their products to find
the best combinations. Hopefully one day
it will be my second vehicle and soley
used to fourwheel so I can beat on it.
