JEEP HISTORY
Traded labor to rebuild coworkers street
bike engine and $1,200.00 cash for my YJ.
Didn't know a lot about them but after
driving and working on it I realized what
Jeep fever was and have been schooling
myself on everything Jeep.

Those snow pics were after I spent 48hrs straight (literally) in WH with the guy working on my jeep just to get it put back together enough to tow it up to Fort Lewis, WA filled from floor pan to roof with parts he didn't get hung or replaced. The profile pic is what it looked like after I hung the rest of the parts but before I finally bought wheels for it. I bought it for a $1 from my grandfather but it quickly became my money pit for a couple grand!

Damn, just noticed you are from my neck of the woods! I was born and raised in Lake Alfred and my family still resides in Winter Haven. Do you know Sy Gray, my cousin? My jeep was restored and rebuilt by Ross Kosmensky there in Winter Haven while I was in Iraq the last time in 2008. I was just home for a month before coming back over here to Iraq and I was in Sy's wedding at First Pres on 6th street! However, because I am from Lake Alfred, I went to AHS. We've got to know some of the same people I'm sure.

My email is USFBullGuy@yahoo.com or john.e.gray@iraq.centcom.mil if you want to hit me up a different way.

I guess I am. I have 292,XXX miles on it now. All the internals on the motor are original but I did a valve job to the head to stop the smoking (bad valve seals). My AX-15 is the original and I haven't had any problems. The t-case has some parts from a '95 that had an SYE. I haven't gotten to put many miles on it this year because I installed gears back in January and it was a work in progress. This evening I'm going to get it back running after a month of being up. I finished the herculiner and I put a new water pump on (4th or 5th in 9 years). I don't have any problems though. It cranks every time and I all I do is keep the oil changed and all the other routine maintenance. I'll have to take a pic of the odometer one day.
