My first offroader was a 1966 Ford Bronco
that I bought in Fayetteville, NC in early
1996. Later that year, I bought a 1977
Ford Bronco chassis with a built 351W. It
had much beefier components than the '66
and an auto tranny. With the help of two
friends, I transferred the '66 body onto
the '77 chassis and got it running. I even
pieced together an onboard air system
using a York air conditioning compressor
and fabricated a bracket. Years later,
when I got out of the Army, I moved back
to California and sold my Bronco to one of
the friends who had helped me build it.
That's when I bought my 2001 TJ and the
real fun began. :)
P.S. Oh, and I
pulled the York system out of the Bronco
before I sold it and transferred it to my
Jeep, where it's still going strong.
