I started out like alot of people, I
thought jeeps were cool but just not for
me (my favorite car is still a caddy). My
(very-soon-to-be Ex)wife wanted a
Wrangler, and got a 2001 TJ Sport..... By
the time that winter was over, I was sold.
I planned on getting one when I got back
from Iraq, but she blew all my money, and
I had nothing when I came back. She did,
however, use my money ($5000) to by me a
94' Yj 4-banger, with 140,000 miles, that
was literally falling apart, in her name.
I drove it for a month (dropping money
into it the whole time), before it pretty
much fell apart on me. Since it was in her
name, she got to keep the $1500 she ripped
off the guy she sold it too, leaving me
out over $7000 when it was all said and
done..... So it's a few months later and i
have finally been able to get enough money
to get a little dinky 2000 TJ SE, with
75,000 miles. I hope to make it into a
"real" Jeep one step at a time,
unfortunately, not only do I not have much
in the way of funding (mainly due to my
wife taking my money, and not doing
anything for her own son), but I am at a
loss as to where I need to start. All I
know is that I don't want to do anything
"half-assed" with it, as I would
like to make it last a long time, both on,
and off the road....... The more i drive
it, the more i think it was put together
right before the sale.... the carpet is
cut all crappy, the seats are brand new
"el-cheap-o" brand, bolted right
to the floor, so they don't move at all.
That means I can't get my 2yr old son in
and out of it. Although at the time we
don't even have a back seat, so it doesn't
matter. There is more but I won't get into
it, unless someone thinks they can help me
figure out where i need to go from here.
