I have wanted a JEEP since I was about 14
years old. My first 4x4 was a 1984 Ford
Bronco II. My second 4x4 was also a
Bronco II. Then I got a 1996 4x4 4.0L
Ford Ranger with the STX off-road package.
After the Ranger was paid off I got a
1984 JEEP CJ-7 and added a lift, tires,
lockers, and dents. The CJ-7 is great
fun on the road and the trails, but you
can't carry very much stuff and with soft
doors and a bikini top you can't leave
anything inside it. When I decided to get
the next 4x4 I knew it had to be another
JEEP. I looked at maybe a dozen Cherokees
before I found my Patriot Blue 2000
Cherokee Classic with the UpCountry
off-road package. I went from a budget
boost lift, to a 3" homebrewed lift,
to a full 3.5" Rubicon Express Lift.
The RE lift now has 2" coil spacers
and 1.5" JKS shackles and measures
5" of lift. The 2000 is still a
work in progress as I find JEEP parts at
the junkyard to either install on mine or
to sell so I can pay for more
modifications. I have purchased a 1997,
a 1998, and 2 1999's that were in
accidents, fixed and re-sold those.
