JEEP HISTORY
I have wanted a JEEP since I was about 14
years old. My first 4x4 was an 1984 Ford
Bronco II. My second 4x4 was an 89 Bronco
II. Then I got a 1996 4x4 4.0L Ford
Ranger with the STX off-road package.
After the Ranger was paid off I finally
got my JEEP, a 1984 JEEP CJ-7. I
installed a lift, tires, lockers, and
added some dents. The CJ-7 is great fun
on the road and the trails, but you can't
carry very much stuff and with soft doors
and a bikini top you can't leave anything
inside it. When I decided to get the next
4x4 I knew it had to be another JEEP. I
looked at maybe a dozen Cherokees before I
found my Patriot Blue 2000 Cherokee
Classic with the UpCountry off-road
package. I went from a 2" budget
boost lift, to a 3" homebrewed lift,
to a full 3.5" Rubicon Express lift.
The Cherokee now has a 5.5" RE lift
with RE Control Arm Drop Brackets and
1.5" JKS rear boomerang shackles.
For added protection, I designed and
built my own front bumper and rock rails.
The bumper has room to be modified for a
winch. To fund my JEEP habit I scrounge
the junkyards for used JEEP parts to
re-sell and I buy and rebuild wrecked
Cherokees. Check out my Picture
Gallery for the latest rebuild.
