JEEP HISTORY
My chosen name is a little misleading,, I
am currently in search of a Jeep and at
the time of registration the 1978 was the
most likely choice. My family has had
various Jeeps since before I could drive.
The first was the very 1978 CJ-5 that I
was considering which currently belongs to
my Brother. Then there was a 1980 CJ-5
that my Dad drove for years. Later we
added a 1983 CJ-7 that another Brother
drove which ended up being my primary
vehicle for a few years. My mom had a
postal Jeep which she used to *surprise*
deliver mail. All the time I lived with
my parents, I never had a Jeep that was
"mine". Instead, I am a 74
Trans-Am with a 455 then later a 72 240Z.
After moving out I traded a dirt-bike for
an 8? CJ-7 Laredo. Sold it to my
Bro-in-law when my kids were born and I
have been Jeep-less ever since. My wife
and I had been considering a Harley
Softtail for the past few years but
decided that it did not make sense with
two daughters in their early teens. This
year we decided that a Jeep would make a
nice substitute. It doesn't hurt that one
of these daughters is a Jeep fan. I am
now the owner of a 1984 CJ-7
