Hey Crawfish, your Jeep looks good! I assume those 33" tires were put on along with your 4" lift? What you are experiencing as a "loss of power" is the dramatic change in the ratio of the size of your new 33" tires relative to the ring and pinion gear ratio of your Jeep. I don't know about a 1997 4 cylinder YJ, but I believe that all 4 cylinder TJs came with a 3:73 gear set. I have a 2003 TJ w/ a 4.0L 6 cylinder, 5 speed manual, that came stock w/ 3.07 gears. When I put 33" tires on my Jeep, 5th gear became useless. It's like having a 10 speed bike and always starting out in 5th gear.

I wrote you a rather lengthy response, but the wed site ******istrator said it was too long to send, so I had to shorten this. Check out these web pages for more information. If you want to give me your email address, I'll send you my enitre response.
