JEEP HISTORY
So I bought a 2.5L 4 cylinder 99 Jeep TJ
with 78,000kms on it 3 years ago.. It was
STOCK.. Here is my journey; Started by
tinting all the windows in the Hardtop..
Had little tires on her so I bought some
31's with some little offset rims so I
could get my full turning radius. I love
my music, so my next project was changing
out my sound system. Started with Infinity
speakers in the upper bar, Kicker deck and
then added a Kenwood amp and 2 10"
kicker subs in the back. Currently running
a Clarion Bluetooth Deck, Kenwood front
speakers, Kicker's in the speaker bar, and
same Amp/Subs. Saga continues.. Here's
here it gets spicy! Got screwed over
with my lift (Three and a half inch Zone
life); buddy I knew who was my
"Friend" said it was $800 when
it was really $450.. Had to buy my own
spring compressors to get the springs out
from Princess Auto.. Bought a buncha crap;
ended up doing the front with him but he
couldn't finish the back so I paid him
$150 then drove it from Dieppe to
Riverview with a 3 and 1/2" lift in
the front and nadda in the back...Looked
like a dork, and I'm sure Natalya (My
Jeep) didn't like it.. Buddy there put the
back on; thought all was good. Took it for
a drive in town, passed over the train
tracks by Leons off Paul St and the rear
Right shock popped right off the mount..
Wasn't secured.. And the back swaybar(?)
mount didn't even have bolts in
it..Needles to say, BODY SWAY.... Fixed
all that (Pro Bono, I thank you).. So,
now I'm driving around all fat and happy
with my Jeep. Found some 33's that lasted
6 months before wearing bald... Picked up
some Mickey Thompson Classic rims; five
for $400, and some MT Classic tires..
Slapped them on the beast.. Loved it, but
the 4 cylinder didn't.. Sept. 2012,
engine blows.. May 2013, she is reborn.
Bought a 97' TJ Sahara Edition parts jeep
with a 4.0L 6 cylinder engine.. Dropped
that in, which included: Engine,
Transmission, drivetrain, engine
wire-harness, top/bottom dash-harness,
swapped sexier seats over, center console,
and tow hooks/fog lights..Probably a few
other things but that's the main
stuff... Current issue: Something
clunking when I start it.. A solid knock
when it starts...And taking off there's
quite the shake..Probably drive-shaft
related? I'm no mechanic; but I'm learning
as I go!!
