Well, early in high school I had always
wanted a Mustang. I love feeling the
power, and I for sure wanted a stick
shift. The problem is, I like camping and
hiking and stuff (imagine a low car in a
field, let alone on trails), also there is
such thing as speed limits. So I decided
to look at vehicles that last a long time
and go everywhere, and was left with no
other option than jeeps :) I had always
admired them, especially with their
military origins, but just hadn't thought
about owning one. In around 2006, my mom
had bought a 2002 Grand Cherokee, and I
loved it, even though it was an automatic.
Around 2008, I began shopping around for a
Wrangler, and saw a green one for sale in
front of the vol. fire dept. The owner of
the jeep was a retired firefighter, who
used it as a daily driver and kept it in
amazing condition, he just had to get rid
of it for something more gas-friendly and
easier on his back. I gave it a test
drive, and I knew as soon as the key
turned that this was my jeep. I never even
tested other jeeps, the only other jeep I
had driven was my mom's WJ. I bought the
jeep for under $10,000 at 76,000 miles in
pretty much mint condition. Now 30,000
miles later, and I still love my jeep as
much as I did during that first test drive
:)
