JEEP HISTORY
I had a used '94 Mustang(a
graduation/birthday gift) for 10 years,
and how I managed to go that long without
4WD I'll never know, especially moving
across the state many, many times, during
blizzards, and over the mountains. I
finally got to a position to buy a vehicle
that would be safer in the winter. I
started with a 99 Wrangler Sahara. It was
great and I loved it, and sometimes wish I
still had it, mostly because it would be
paid off by now. I got a great deal on
it, but was never in love with it, the
color was all wrong. So after a year and
a half, I traded both the mustang(then on
it's last legs) and the 99 Sahara on a
2008 Sahara Unlimited. It was beautiful,
comfy, and nearly perfect. I started to
get into riding trails and realized I I'd
rather have some stronger equipment in the
powertrain, you know, just in case so
after a year I traded that in for a 2009
Rubicon Unlimited. It was perfect, bright
yellow, all the bells and whistles(stock)
and I couldn't have asked for a better
Jeep. 6 months later I decided to be
smart though and trade it in on a little
car to save money(to be with the girl) and
three months later she left, leaving me
with no girl, a little car and no jeep.
Needless to say I learned a lesson on that
one. After going camping and not being
able to drive up there myself like I
always had done before, I said that was
it, and started shopping for another jeep.
The budget was small, but I was
determined, and now I have a 2005 Grand
Cherokee Limited. I am amazed at how much
I love this Jeep, thinking I could only be
a Wrangler fan, but with decent enough
off-road capabilities, entertainment for
passengers, and damn comfortable seats,
I'll most likely drive this till it blows
up. When that day comes though, I will
again have a Rubicon ready to take its
place.
