So I went surfing this past weekend. The water was
freakin' freezing (low 70's which for anyone who
doesn't normally go into the water until June is very
cold) and I suck at surfing. No balance to speak of
although I did manage to get up onto my knees at one
point.
The beach was really nice though, flat and full of
vehicles. Lots of Jeeps in all shapes and sizes which
was pretty nifty to see plus quite a few people in
sedans getting stuck in the soft sands. Lots of
shuddering axles, quite a few tows and one destroyed
bumper.
So overall an interesting weekend. I am now sunburned,
scraped, board-rashed, cut and bruised but the mean
looking bruise (my friend said it looks like I had
kidney surgery) on my left hip makes up for it.
I highly recommend surfing to all those who haven't
tried it before, the thrill of trying something new and
maybe accomplishment is worth all the pain and failure.
I would go with warmer water though. :tea:...
