Purchased my Jeep XJ in February 2004.
Shortly after purchasing my XJ, I
installed PowerTrax No-Slip lockers in the
rear Dana 35 and in the front Dane 30. In
2006 I rebuilt a 1992 Dana 30 high pinion
disconnect front axle. I installed an
8000# winch, 6" lift, 1" t-case
drop, I custom built front and rear
bumpers, custom made heim steering linkage
and modified Rusty's track bar to work
with heim steering. I purchased new
33x12.50x15 Goodyear Duratrac tires in
2011.
On Halloween day; 2011, my engine
with over 182,000 miles on it decided to
show its age. I had to pull engine for a
complete rebuild. I had it bored
.060" over and replace most internal
components.
Shortly after engine
rebuild, front axle u-joints blew and
desroyed shafts and ABS wheel sensors. I
replaced axle shafts with after market CV
axle shafts and replaced ABS wheel
sensors. I am curious to see how CV axle
shafts hold up.
My favorite place to
go off-roading is in northern Wisconsin
and the Iron Range Off Road Park in
Minnesota. My family is planning a trip to
Colorado in the fall of 2012.
