This is my first jeep. I purchased it back
in the fall of 2008 and have been slowly
building it ever since. I am quickly
learning a lot about my jeep and getting
addicted to fabrication and building so i
like to think its progressing pretty fast.
Since this jeep is not my daily driver i
have plans for it to be a dedicated trail
rig with everything on it custom built or
modified by me. I'v always been into
wrenching so this jeep is perfect for me
to learn and expand my skills.

| | MO2500 01/10/2012 6:10 PM To prep the flares I just used a
green scotch brite pad and cleaned
them really well with soap and
water. Then sprayed them with
Krylon fusion satan black. It's
held up well. A few spots need to
be touched up from rubbing the
fenders on rocks and trees. |
|
| | 01TJSE 01/10/2012 5:57 PM Hey bud just had a quick question
on how you prepped your fender
flares before painting? |
|
| | SOLIDJP44 03/17/2010 9:44 PM thanks my friend for all your
useful insight, ill keep posted to
your thread for updates.. |
|
| | SOLIDJP44 03/17/2010 7:24 PM see i talked to a couple guys and
they told me it really isnt worth
locking the front just worry about
the rear, but i may reconsider
after seeing what you did. When i
go to do my rear next summer i
plant to go selectable and re gear
like you said and go to 4.88s, so
that's when i will do it all, the
right way then. I may just throw a
locker up front but i dont want to
create more wear or tire wear
after spending 250 per tire for my
kevlars..lol. so that's my plan,
im going to check out
northridge4x4, what are some good
reviews on your aussie to read up
on??? |
|
| | SOLIDJP44 03/17/2010 7:13 PM id like to do either a yukon or an
arb selectable for the rear. So
your saying it would be in my
better interest to lock the front
with an aussie like what you
did....him that isnt bad either at
249, i wonder what a shop would
charge to install it, if i did go
that route. thanks for your help,
that is now on my list with a
savvy gts and then possibly an
aussie, along with rock sliders |
|
| | SOLIDJP44 03/17/2010 5:48 PM what brand is yours again and how
much did it run you. also im sure
a shop will make a killing off of
me, but i hate to mess around with
gears and such and screw up my
perfectly fine D44 |
|
| | SOLIDJP44 03/17/2010 1:06 PM how do you like the assuie locker?
Id like to lock my rear end this
summer, im thinking about going
with Yukon. |
|
| | SOLIDJP44 12/15/2009 6:05 PM how did u go about painting your
suspension red, did u take them
off and scrap and paint them or
did u paint with them on im
curious because it looks really
good. |
