From the time I was 16 I wanted a Jeep,
but it never worked out until later. I got
married in June 2001, bought a '98 TJ
Sahara in August 2001, and found out we
were pregnant in October 2001. In order to
afford the daycare payment that was
coming, I only got to keep the Jeep for
about a year and then I had to sell it. It
was replaced with a '91 Ford Ranger 2wd
that I drove that for 5 long years. On
Nov. 20, 2007 my wife surprised me with a
new Jeep. I was super excited. It is a '91
YJ Wrangler with 135,000 mi. and has only
had two owners, been garaged kept, and has
NEVER been off-road. It is in incredible
shape. I'm so excited to have a jeep again
and I am having a blast tinkering again.

LATEST BLOG ENTRY

So this is a blog.........Not sure how I'm going to use
this yet. Seems like a good place to document my Jeep
build, but I've got that going in a thread on the forum
in the Jeep Registry section. Maybe I should move it
here. . . . . ....

| | Jody C. 07/28/2009 8:47 PM ok, so you are selling the Heap,
then you're keeping it... so
let's go ride!! Wherever, Tower
Road, MM, or we can pick a sunny
Saturday & ride to MM, cruise the
trails, then drive home. Let's do
it before it gets cold! Lemme
know..... |
|
| | USMC SouthernYJ 06/10/2009 4:16 PM Jeeps doin pretty good. It's
gettin a heavy duty skid plate
made up right now. Yeah I think me
and a couple buddies are goin this
coming weekend if the weather
holds up but other than that no.
I'm headin out for boot camp July
2nd. We need to get a ride
together sometime this fall. |
|
| | NorthwestYJ 06/10/2009 11:16 AM thanks man! Beleive it or not ive
followed your jeep the whole time!
Its allways been one of my
favorites and motivated me to keep
saving for mine. You have really
done a great job and its nice to
see someone do the work themselves
and do things the right way |

| | jordanw_125 03/12/2009 7:50 PM Hey man. Do you know what time
ya'll are planning on leaving
saturday? Or who I'm riding with?
I just need to know where to go
and when to get there. Thanks |
|
| | USMC SouthernYJ 03/02/2009 6:26 PM hey man sorry its taken me so long
to get back to you. Been real busy
with school and marine ******. I
added some lights on my
windshield, but I'm havin a hell
of a time wirin em up for some
reason. I think the harness may be
bad...prolly gonna drop it off at
an offroad shop around here and
see what they can do. Got a rear
bumper w/ tire carrier too. Other
than that, nothin. What bout you? |
|
| | jordanw_125 03/02/2009 9:14 AM Yeah, I'm here. Let me know
whenever you get ready, I'll see
if I can tag along. Thanks. |
|
| | shaggyjim 02/20/2009 7:44 PM sorry the Chevy plates are off the
front axle! |
|
| | shaggyjim 02/20/2009 7:40 PM N.P Matt if you look at my profile
you can see the fronts on the dana
44. |
|
| | shaggyjim 02/20/2009 7:09 PM Ok Matt I went out and got the
back u-bolt plates from a XJ then
got the u-bolt plates from a early
70's 4x4 Chevy D44. The 44's are
a spring over and the early ones
are a heavy duty casting without
the swey bar mounting stud. I cut
the sides out of the XJ plates
from the holes out. I got a set
of flat bottom ubolts from a parts
place for about $10, and welded
bars to the underside of the Chevy
Plates to center them on my 44. I
put the XJ mounts on the bottom,
ubolts up and the chevy plates on
top. As for the back I did the
same thing with the spring plates
off my jeep but I had found some
spring plates from a old Ford I
think it was a 66 or around there
It was a heavy duty one ton
dually. Im not shure of the axle
because it was removed at the time
and the plates left on the ground.
The neet thing about the ford
plates is that they are cast heavy
duty and curved and fit the curve
of the 9" perfect. The asembly is
the same as the front without the
welding. I will put some photos
up on my profile if i can find
them. |

| | yjcrawlr 12/14/2008 9:05 AM What up Matt, the tires are
37x12.50x16 Parnelli jones dirt
grips on 16x8 wheels. I will
probably step up to 40s for the
next tires. I might just go with
another set of dirt grips or I
really like the Maxxis Creepy
Crawlers. The Dirt Grips have
great off road traction and are
not rediculus on the street. I do
drive my rig to the trail and back
home again. |
|
| | chupacabrah 11/03/2008 7:34 PM love 'em, they're great! I did
the rear first, just because i had
it. with an 8.8, doing the rear
first is ok. otherwise I would
prefer to have the front done
first definitely |
|
| | USMC SouthernYJ 10/14/2008 11:10 AM Really? I don't know, I'll check
my schedule see what's goin on. If
I aint got nothin then I'm down.
I'm guessin you got yer engine
squared away? |
|
| | Vhullen 10/03/2008 10:13 PM hey do you know anything about the
Rhino deisel engines? also i
wanted to change out the engine,
some people tell me to change it
to a 4.0L 6, and others say keep
it at what i have it...what do you
think? |
