July 30, 2009 Hey my name is Morgan, im
from Oregon. I just got this jeep about a
week ago and fell in love with it. It came
with lots of extras and seemed to not have
very many problems aside from needing new
shocks. The first night i drove it i
accidently popped the clutch and broke a U
joint and damaged the rear Knuckle. A few
days later and a few hundred dollars
poorer, i was back out driving it.
Then just last night i was driving,
and while i was shifting from 2nd to 3rd,
i lost all my gears. I figured out awhile
later that my whole shifting shaft had
lifted out of the transmission and didnt
allow me to change gears, or even get into
a gear. I took off the boot and panel that
covered the problem and i found that if
you lifted up on the shifting shaft, it
would pop out of the transmission and
leave you stranded. To put it back in you
have to have a good hand to find the right
whole, or take it all apart and look at it
while you do it. Im sure there will be
a few kinks im going to have to work out
because this is a new car for me, but i
also need some help because i have only a
basic understanding of the mechanics of a
jeep, and i have a limited budget and cant
run to a mechanic everytime something goes
wrong. If anyone has any advice for me
i would love to hear from you. I need all
the help i can get on my new ride. Im
going to update this on all my problems i
find and any additions i put on my jeep.
