JEEP HISTORY
I grew up around jeeps in a jeep family
but never actually owned one till now. I
bought this CJ7 from my folks to build a
daily driver with my favorite engine, 6.2
liter diesel. I completed the diesel
conversion in november and have taken a
break. I think it's time to get it going
again. Been driving it for a year or so
now. Learned alot. Diesels don't like hot
air, so I installed the hood scoop and
modified the air cleaner so that it seals
against the hood for a cold air intake. It
cured the hot engine with no power
problem. Also installed an Oil cooler in
it today. Decided to vent it thru the hood
as well with it's own electric fan to help
with engine compartment heat build up as
well as cool the oil. Also installed an
either switch for cold starts. (after I
burned up a starter of course :/) So far
everything seems to be working
wonderfully! I threw on some Aluminum
Wheels and used 33's. Haven't installed
the 4" lift I have sitting in the
garage yet tho. I equipped it with a
thorough set of tools and straps. Pretty
much ready to hit the trails.
