JEEP HISTORY
I now have 3 Jeep Cherokees. A 1988
for parts, I believe it is an Olympic
edition. I also have a 1989 that is
just a base Cherokee, 4.0L with a 5-speed,
but as of right now it uses more oil than
gas it seems... I had a 1989 Wagoneer
Limited for about 6 months. I just never
felt like that Jeep was for me. I ended
up trading it to a friend of mine for my
Neon I used to own so I would have a good
gas mileage vehicle. I picked up
another parts Jeep, a 1988 Wagoneer
Limited. Engine is good, transmission
works but is kinda iffy, and the transfer
case has a hole in the bottom. I
picked up the 1999 Cherokee Sport about 5
weeks ago, kind of a spur of the moment
purchase, but the money was right and it
is in excellent condition. I love it.
About a month ago I blew a radiator hose
coming back from my fiancee's house and
ran it way hot. After that it would not
cool right, so I ended up trading
it. The latest in my list of Jeeps is a
2005 Grand Cherokee Limited. The color is
a dark red metallic. The one selling
point to me was the engine, YES it has a
HEMI and I love it. The fuel mileage is
no worse than my 1999 4.0L was. Updated
04/07/2014: Traded the Grand Cherokee
last May for a Firebird Formula. It had a
lot of little issues and at the end, the
only thing I was happy with was the
engine. Which leads me to my latest
re-entry back to the Jeep world.
Yesterday I purchased a 1998 Jeep Cherokee
Sport, 4.0L with 5 speed manual, 4"
lift with 31x10.50 BFG All Terrain K/O
tires.
