This is my third Jeep. I had a 1962 CJ
that was a pile of rust. The only thing
good on it was the transfer case and the
t-90 transmission that I had the pleasure
of rebuilding. It was a great collection
of parts but really needed to be sold off
as parts...and so it was. The tub was so
badly rusted that i was able to fit it
entirely into my one residential trash
can, with judicious application of a
reciprocating saw.
A few years and 2
states later I spotted a mail Jeep that I
really wanted to have. It turned out to
be a left hand drive DJ (not right hand
drive like you would expect a postal jeep
to be.) It was indeed a postal jeep - I
found the original white over blue paint
scheme while sanding on it. This Jeep is
on the back burner right now but I plan to
paint it and swap in a 4wd
drivetrain...eventually.
The 2004 was
my daily driver for a few weeks but now
sits at home waiting to be taken out to
play. Because of this I have been able to
drag out several projects that would not
be possible on a daily driver.
