First Jeep! definitely not my
I got this
Jeep from my girlfriends grandpa for $500
dollars. had two bad electrical problems
and a gear selecting problem. it was in an
electrical fire and all the wiring had to
be replaced. then the gauges in the
cluster stopped working and battery
started draining over night afterwards and
thats when he decided he no longer wanted
to put more money into it seeing as how
they had two vehicles already and this
jeep had 285,000 KM on it when i got
After a couple long excursions,
going through every connector in the
engine compartment, tearing out the
interior, testing every connection, i
finally ended up finding my draw. the tech
who re-wired everything should have his
penis whacked after this $5,000 job. he
missed a big gob of melted together wires.
once i cut them out and replaced them, no
onto the gauges, thinking
it was a short. i tried to find body
grounds, took the dash apart. ripped out
interior. turned out to be my cluster was
bad, even though everything else worked
but the needles.
this thing is MINT.
very well looked after. by the time i had
it safetied (couple bulbs, rear axle seal,
diff oil, cluster, rear shocks) the grand
total was $850 dollars spent.
was safetied, i put my car up for sale, 89
cavalier z24. ended up selling it for
$2000. and with that money i will put it
into the jeep.
I then began some
tweaking, Carbonfibre dash wrap, Pioneer
deck out of my car, sub, amp, wiring.
