JEEP HISTORY
about 10 years ago, had an 87 XJ with the
4.0, auto, lucked out with a factory D44
rear... the bug bit and I put a lot of
time into that thing... 4 1/2" RE
lift (biggest RE made at that time)
boosted by a 2" block in rear and a
2" Tomken Machine coil spacer in
front. cut the heck out of the fenders,
built bumpers, ran 33s and regeared to
4.56. Then I transitioned into
"regular" vehicles for a while,
keeping them stock... recently, my Matrix
spun a rod bearing, and I began searching
for a different vehicle. Decided on some
type of Wrangler and started searching.
Found what I believe to be a great deal in
a well maintained 95.
