JEEP HISTORY
My dad started me on Jeeps when I was
young. Since I was the oldest kid I was
the one outside in the bitter cold holding
the flash light and retrieving tools.
This brought us together and taught me how
to work on my own junk. Here I am getting
back into Jeeps, (I guess women can have a
midlife crises too!). My toy is a 1977
CJ7 that a friend and I found in a
wrecking yard. Within an hour of getting
it home, I had it running. Someone had
put a lot of new parts in it trying to get
it running, it had new plugs, distributor,
carburetor, fuel pump, the whole nine
yards! In the end they had the timing off
by about 90 degrees because someone put
the wrong front cover on the engine, and
the timing marks are vastly different
between the early 70's and the late 70's.
