Got into Jeeps thru my Dad's
He started working for
Kaiser Jeep in 1969 as a District Mgr, he
retired from Chrysler/ Jeep in 1988.
the early 70's we were involved in amature
Off-Road racing in SW.PA. Belonged to the
Westmoreland County 4WD Club. I had a
great time at those races even though I
was too young to drive. We moved from the
area in '75. 1977 was the last time I was
at a 4x4 race.
In '76 I got my first
CJ-5, a 1965. FH 4. Did a lot of body
work to it. Fabed a new floor pan. Drove
this to PA the summer of '77 for the
Westmoreland Club race. Only had it a
year before it was totaled when I was hit
broadside by a semi.
Next jeep was in
'79, it was a '74 CJ-5, I-6. I loved that
Jeep. I repainted it, had wagon wheels
and 31" tires. It was totaled a year
later on my way to work. Rear ended by a
Next was a loaded '86
Comanche, White w-orange stripes, running
boards, 7' bed with a FG cap, I-4 std
Then a grey '88 Cherokee
Pioneer I-6 auto.
Another '92 Comanche
as a work truck. I-6 std. Had it 2 years
and needed a larger truck.
'02 I got back to Jeeps and bought a GC
I keep looking at Wranglers.
Told my wife I wanted one to do some mods
to. Not yet but .....someday
see myself without a Jeep.
bought a 83 CJ-7. In pretty decent
July '13 sold the 83 CJ.
Aug '13 bought an 09 JKU.
