JEEP HISTORY
I bought my first Jeep (YJ Wrangler) in
1992. At the time My 1980 Z28 Camaro was
on Jackstands longer than on tires, so i
decided a new car was in order. I wanted
a convertible so I looked at a new Mustang
and a used Corvette. Both were nice
execpt at the time insurance would be
$5000 a year for either. Driving along
one day I noticed a Jeep dealer and
thought, "Not just topless, but
doorless also." I walked in and saw
an first the sales person showed me black
Renegade. He called it his Darth Vader
Mobile. I went home contemplated and came
to the conclusion I wanted a Jeep so I
went back the next day and bought a White
S type. I couldn't even drive stick and I
stalled 4 times just getting out of the
parking lot. Well I learned to drive
stick and never looked back. My YJ was a
faithful partner, never leaving me stuck
on the side of the road, even when the
rear drive shaft decided to break off and
lye in the middle of the street. I popped
it into 4wd and drove my front wheel drive
Jeep home. When the price of gas
started rising I put my YJ to the side and
bought a 2007 Accord. It was great on
Gas, but I wanted my Jeep back. I finally
decided this summer I had plenty of money
in my savings account making pennies in
interest and I wanted to be happy again,
so my hunt began. I went to my old Jeep
dealership only to find that it moved and
got bigger. Finding the dealership, I was
hardpressed to find a Jeep in stick. I
decided I wanted a Rubi so all the things
I wanted to do with YJ could come to
reality. A rubi gave me a good base to
start with instead of needing to regear.
