JEEP HISTORY
This is my first Jeep, purchased in 2007
with 142,000 miles on it. I plan on using
it for mild trails only as it has a D35
and is my daily driver. It needed lots of
TLC, and I've already put more money into
it than I paid for it. But working on the
Jeep keeps me out of trouble...most of the
time.

Jay

Thanks for the heads up! My Jeep isn't exactly the quietest thing in the world so I'll probably just leave it on all the time especially if it had lights. I got to figure out if the bumper or the roof rack comes first this summer...but that's all after the new shocks, quick discos, etc. You know how this Jeep stuff goes.

I thought the clunk coulda had something to do with the transmission but when it started clunking when I was cornering, slowing down, or hitting bumps I figured it had something to do with the suspension. Plus I'm gettin the same clunk, rarely, up front so I think was just the bushings in the UCA's all around. It happens a lot less often now so I'm not all that concerned. I really need to get my steering figured out though, I've replaced pretty much everything from the pitman arm down that would have any effect on steering, so maybe I'll have some luck with a steering box and shaft swap...we'll see.

BTW, what kind of aux lights are those on your front bumper?
Any suggestions for a brand?

And yeah, you're right. This Jeep stuff is fun...when ya got the dough flowin.

Thanks for gettin back to me, I'm really set on that rack once I get the rest of my steering/suspension squared away. I want to get four aux lights for it, two front two back, but that's off in the future.

I'm still tryin to track that annoying clunk down in the rearend. I replaced the TB, SB, and UCA bushings and still I get the clunk except less often now. I'm almost thinkin I had two clunks and when I replaced the upper CA bushings it got rid of one of them but left the other.

I did however go wheelin last Saturday and for the whole weekend...no clunk. But as I figured it was back the next Monday mornin so I guess it's off to the next could be culprit.

Good talkin to ya Jay

Hey Jay, how's that ROLA comin' along? It looks pretty sweet, and you're actually using it for something...go figure.

i know what your talking about when you say tired..... its not fun keeping it up to speed around 65 or so.... You dont wanna push the gas way down and lose all the gas in your tank. Even with the V8 its still not like it was stock! But its a hell of a lot better than my old jeep with the I6 and 3.07's! haha
