my dad had a 92 xj 4 door that he loved to
death...and so did i. i was always by his
side helping him and learning. so pretty
much ive been into jeeps since i was six.
well, my mom made my dad sell it because
her aunts were uncomfortable in the
backseat so we ended up with a minivan.
after the minivan came the sebring which i
ended up buying for my first car. then
came the zj which my dad didnt like and
that didnt stay for long. from that point
on, i knew i was going to get another
xj. well for my birthday on january
8th, 08, after dinner my parents asked me
what i wanted to do. i said look at
jeeps..kind of as a joke but i kept my
eyes open. saw a few that looked good,
but i wasnt really intrested. then the
last stop was park jeep. we pulled up,
got out and looked around. then, parked
next to a ford ranger was a 99 xj. the
paint looked awesome. i walked up to it
and looked inside. 5 speed manual, gotta
love that! it was a 2 door which was all
i needed and then i noticed the mileage.
201k. pretty high for a 99. next day we
went to the dealership and turns out it
was a 1 owner jeep its whole life and the
previous owner babied it. it had all
service records which included regular
transmission, transfercase and
differential maintenance. i knew from
that point on, this was my first jeep.
sure enough, a week and a day later and my
parents said they would loan me the money.
it will sit until i sell my sebring and
then it will be a daily driver. i love
jeeps!!
