JEEP HISTORY
I had an 1983 CJ-7 when I was 16 years
old. At the time, it was only 10 years
old, but my 16 year old self thought it
was an antique! I only drove it for a
little more than a year, before I took out
a telephone poll with it. The jeep came
out looking better than the telephone
poll, but it was totaled anyway. The jeep
was AMC original tan. Throughout the
years I've off-and-on looked for or had my
eye out for another tan jeep. But they
seemed to be rare. During my latest search
attempt (Aug, 2012), I finally saw one.
It was a 1981 in seemingly good shape,
low-rust, mostly original condition. I
quickly overpaid for it and drove 200
miles home (from DWF area to Austin Tx).
