JEEP HISTORY
My family has had lots of jeeps in the
past first one I remember was a black CJ5
I know it had a v6 and I remember hunting
in it and my dad used to pop wheelies in
it. Years later dad got a 1952 M38A1
radio jeep with an alum hard top. He got
it out of a field and I helped him get it
running and fixed up. The owner had
documents on the jeep it served as a radio
command jeep in during the Korean war in
Guam. It was all original and really
cool. My own first jeep was a 1985
cherokee 2.8L v6 5 speed no lift and
215x75x15 street tires. I got it from my
mom and wheeled the fun out of it in stock
form until I decided it was just too worn
out. It had around 312K miles on it when
I sold it. Next came a 91 MJ
comanchee 2wd 4.0 5 speed. It was a quick
little truck and I bought a fire damaged
comanchee to swap the 4wd but the truck
got broke into and I lost interest in it
it just felt violated. The next jeep
was a 1985 grand wagoneer FSJ it had a
swapped in 401 that was built pretty hot,
727 trans. This jeep was wicked fast and
had a ton of torque. I broke 3 trans
mounts and 5 engine mounts during the time
I owned it. I had a 3" body lift and
2" add-a-leaves to fit 33x9.50x15
tires that still rubbed like crazy in the
TINY rear wheel wells. I always wanted
a TJ since they came out but I had crappy
credit due to being a dumb teenager. So I
went without a jeep for many years. Until
feb 2010 I seen my current jeep, it wasnt
exactly what I wanted but it was super
clean and only had 23k miles on it and the
price was right and by this time I had
fixed my credit.
