JEEP HISTORY
2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland, 4.7 V8
H.O. With Up-Country suspension. Metallic
Black, upgraded chrome rims. My first
car was my current jeep, inherited from my
dad. We've been in love ever since, her
name is Lizaveta. he actually bought a
2002 overland which was a lemon, they
ended up giving him the 2004 overland
fully loaded as a replacement. I now
use it as my daily driver and as my
emergency response vehicle when I am on
call (volunteer EMT certified in PA/NJ). I
have a siren which I'm technically not
supposed to use (EMT's can only use lights
and their horn) but I know most of the
cops in my town and they are cool with it
(assuming of course I'm answering a call).
I also used it to stop a friend from drunk
driving by pulling up behind him as soon
as he started the engine and turning on my
lights and siren, he was so scared before
realizing it was me that he slept in his
car and drive home in the
morning! Intake: K&N 57 FIPK,
heatwrapped with thermal tape. Exhaust:
Borla cat-back 14836 system, all pipes
rust sealed and painted with high temp
paint from the manifold to the borla metal
(left unpainted because its really good
stainless) ECU: superchips 3875
flashpaq Engine: cleaned and painted
with Eastwood High Temp Ceramic
paint. Brakes: EBC dimpled/slotted
rotors, clear-coated. Calipers stock but
painted red with G2 brush on kit.
greenstuff 7000 pads in the front and 6000
in the rear. Shocks: Bilstein HD front
and rear. Sway bar: addco front and
rear, painted red. Coils: stock but
painted yellow. Underbody: all exposed
components were cleaned, rust-sealed, and
then top-coated black, it looks great and
is protecting all my exposed car parts
including the frame. Electrical: I'm a
volunteer EMT so I had a code 3 siren
installed (not actually allowed to use it,
but I do) with emergency lights installed
in the grill, strobes in my headlights and
rear reverse lights, lightbar mounted just
below the blue tint in my windshield.
2-way radio trunking system for EMT calls,
hooked up to the siren so I can listen to
the calls from outside my car when I'm on
call. Armor: skid plates included with
UC suspension, Westin front brushguard
with pushbars, westin tail light guards,
westin nerf bars, stock rock rails. I also
have the entire underbody and frame
rust-sealed and topcoated for
protection. In the car: Mounted EMT
med-kit, AED, fire extinguisher, roadside
emergency kit, basic toolbox,
2-person/3-day emergency survival kit
(yes, I like to be prepared). Future: I
plan to have to engine overhauled at 180K
and hope to bring it to at least 300K
before it dies. I'm not sure if having the
tranny rebuilt is considered part of the
overhaul but I will also have that done at
180K. After my 90K service at the dealer,
I started doing all maintenance by myself
except for things covered by the warranty
(my father bought the 120,000 mile bumper
to bumper extended warranty right before
giving me the truck)
