JEEP HISTORY
My first Jeep was a 1979 2-door Cherokee
and reluctantly sold it. I didn't really
know what I had. I was in very good
condition too. My second Jeep was a
1996 Cherokee. That is when I found the
interwebs forums. I didn't do a whole lot
to it, SkyJacker shocks, Magnaflow
exhaust, 29" Swamper STS Radials on
white wagon wheels, a better stereo, and a
gauge cluster swap. It was a nice little
Jeep too. I should have kept it, but I
traded it for a little 5-spd Mirage.
The Mirage was fun to drive, but it
sucked getting an infant in and out of a
2-door car. That is when I ended up with a
2000 Cherokee. I did a lot of work to it
and it looked damn good to for a DD/Trail
rig. 2.25" of lift, trimmed fenders,
bump stops with some 32s was an awesome
combination and not too bad with stock
gearing. My only real regret was buying
it, but now it's gone. What's the next
vehicle? Who knows. I do have it narrowed
and some choices include Jeeps. Such as,
98 V8 ZJ, V8 WJ if I choose to say with an
auto. A YJ/TJ, an 97-99 XJ (if one can be
found w/ decent mileage), or 00-02 Subaru
Impreza. Well, my next vehicle is a
1997 Cherokee Sport. I wanted a manual,
but the damn things are hard to find. The
ones I did find were either crap, seller
didn't return emails, or they were just
plain over priced. I'm content with it
being an auto. It only has 92k on it and
the body pretty good shape. The interior
need some TLC. For $2900, I don't think I
did too bad. Now onto some upgrades. :)
