JEEP HISTORY
It all started with my older brother's
first truck. A 1976 Jeep J-10 with a
chevy 350 and a turbo 400, 4X4, 3 spd
auto. My brother was the baddest muther
around. Although he was never the one to
gloat even in the slightest, everbody
admired him and that truck. He even had
cops pull him over, just to ASK about that
darn thing! With a newly exhaust system
out of the new mustangs it sounded
beautiful as well. Well, we still have the
truck some 6 years later and are currently
making a hog hunting truck out of it any
good southern man could appreciate. We
tore down and built up the 350, acquired a
12,000lb warn winch, added 6in of lift and
are currently working on pooling our funds
to finish what has turned out to be a very
long and drawn out process. For anyone who
has made it this far reading, thank you.
As for the rest of the plans for J-10 they
include custom bumpers, leather bucket
seats, 4:56 gears, locker, flatbed, bigger
tires, and nitrious, yes i said nitrious,
Why? because we can, thats why. As for
my comanche welll thats another
story. Bought it from some people in
Ft. pierce, FL (Greatest place on earth!)
Drove the piece out of it 4 wheelin and
raiseing all kinds of hell. tough as
nails. I did have some problems however,
seized caliper in rush hour traffic, new
radiator, new water pump. But the worst of
all was when my DIPSTICK GROUND STUD
became loose. Nearly bought the farm 5 er
6 times cause of its harendous buckin and
kickin. Soo my beloved mj sat in the back
yard for almost a year even after spending
800 dollars and countless hours of head
scratching. It wasnt until i found this
site this wonderful WWonderful site that
the truth was revealed. With a good
cleaning and few turns of a wrench all my
problems were gone. By this time I had
traveled to FL and trailered it up to TN,
which is where i got it running once more,
and where it has continued to run
faithfully.
