JEEP HISTORY
In 1983, I bought a new Jeep CJ-7 and kept
it for 18 years. I made no modifications
to it. It was an semi-OK but had
recurring problems with the Pulse-Air smog
system and with the transmission 2004:
I sold the CJ-7 for $7,000 (!) and bought
the Jeep Liberty. I've made NO
modifications to it. It's had regular
maintenance (fluid and filter changes (but
the oil-filter is a bear to change);
tune-ups, etc). 99 44/100% of my
driving is back-and-forth on paved roads
but I've done a little trail-riding (Death
Valley, Canyonlands, Glamis, etc) In
December 2011, I replaced: OEM tires
(Goodyear SR-A) with Michelin LTX
M/S2 OEM shocks and struts with Monroe
Sensa-Tracs OEM coil springs with OME
coil springs Although the body is now
2" taller than factory specs, the
front tires still rub on the plastic
fender liners during hard turns
