JEEP HISTORY
I bought my first Jeep in 1986 (Cherokee).
Traded it for a 1988 Cherokee and bought
a 1983 CJ7. First went off-road in the
Black Hills of South Dakota with the CJ7.
In 2006, with two more drivers in the
house, I bought a 1997 TJ. That gave me
something to drive when I started the
frame-up restore on the CJ7 (finished in
2008). I still have the 1983 CJ7 but my
son (now a Navy Ensign) has title to the
TJ.

How long of a cv shaft would you recommend? I see they come in many different lengths.

Could I get by with a 4" suspension and not have to have a cv shaft until I do any body lifting? The jeep drives great as is but I just want it tall enough for 35s and not have to change too much of the drivetrain if possible.

I have a 74 cj5 and I am jealous of your lift and wheel clearance. Is that 4" suspension all you have or did u do SOA also? I would like mine to look just like that with the same fender flares as well.
