JEEP HISTORY
Always wanted a Wrangler since childhood
and now I've got one. Drove Hondas for
a lot of years. Had a 97 Civic EX thru
college then Dad got himself a YJ my
senior year. Drove it while my car was
down for a bit and that sealed the deal.
On a whim while at work, I posted the
Civic on CL as an even trade...2 days
later, I'm the proud owner of a YJ! First
thing I did was park it on top of the
ridgeline at the back of my property and
look out over the valley. Highest point
for 800yds in any direction. Well worth
the trade, no doubt about it. And so
began my Jeep obsession. Now I've moved
on to a TJ Sport...the fun continues while
I daily drive and wheel my Jeep everywhere
I can and enjoy being my own mechanic.

Oh, and add a Rugged Ridge HD steering setup to that "already have" list...

OK, here's a list of the parts I have laying around for this rebuild. I've got another vehicle lined up for a driver in case I can't use the motorcycle for some reason.

3.5" Rancho coils
- Front/Rear
Fixed lower control arms
- Front/Rear
- Rancho
Big pile of appropriate grade 8 hardware
Adjustable front track bar
Beefy rear track bar
Rear track bar drop bracket
Extended rear swaybar links
Transfer case drop kit (just in case)
Transmission mount
New AMSOIL TC fluid
4x 33x12.50x15 tires
- Kumho Road Venture MT's
- 100 mi. on them
New Centric brake discs
New performance pads
Pair of front seats
- from a Dodge Stealth
Rear security drawer

I still need to buy the following:
Extended brake lines
U-joints
- For front/rear driveshafts
- for axles
Ball Joints
- parts
- install tools (should work on u-joints too)
Unit bearings
Axle tube seals
- thinking Alloy USA
Durango steering gearbox
Swaybar bushings
Odds-and-ends

I'm going to start taking everything apart. I imagine it will be a few weeks before I can afford the rest of the stuff I need to totally finish this. In the meantime my goal is to get the fresh suspension and tires installed so that I can continue to use it as a daily driver while I address some of these other issues.
