Bought our jeep when we moved to Lake
Havasu City, AZ, just to putt around in
the surrounding desert and mountains.
Didn't think we would modify it much if at
all-boy were we wrong. First was a 4 inch
lift and 33 inch tires on new rims. We
found that after putting bigger tires on,
it was a DOG, so of course 488 gears and
ARB lockers. Next came the fun stuff-
winch, front bumper to accomodate the
winch, and rear bumper/tire carrier. Our
latest additions have been lap belts for
the trail (illegal on the street), and new
Pro-Comp X-Terrain tires, since we pretty
much destroyed our last set in Moab. We
also joined the local 4-wheel drive club,
the Havasu 4-wheelers, and have enjoyed
the many runs and activities with them.
It is much more enjoyable, and more safe
to go with a group, especially guys with
the skills and knowledge that many of our
member possess. Having the little bitty
4-banger requires us to throw it into low,
or use lockers earlier than most, but the
little beast gets us pretty much anywhere
we want to go. I know that we still need
some beefing up to do, but it all takes
$$$$$
