JEEP HISTORY
My first jeep was a 79 CJ7 with a hardtop
and hard doors, 258 auto with quadratrac.
I paid way too much for it and it had
really crappy oil pressure! Gave it to my
best friend (Dan Kylor..if you read
this...look me up man) and hooked him on
jeeps:-) Then I bought an 89 wrangler
same specs as cj7 except it didn't have
the quadratrac. Kept that jeep till I
needed a grocery getter and traded it on a
98 Corolla (Great little car). Then I had
a 75 CJ5 with the 360 V8. That thing was
like a rocket on the highway! Wheeled it
a couple times on some old logging roads
with aforementioned best friend and cj7
which he fixed up very well. Some time
after that though, his cj7 had an engine
fire that did not get contained until it
devoured the entire jeep :-( Then I had a
92 wrangler with the 4 cyl but joined the
Army shortly after buying and sold just
prior to leaving for basic. It was white
anyway LOL. Bought my current 2000 TJ
when I finished school and got hired at
JLG industries. Added the 2" OME
lift and 32's and wheeled it like that
until I could afford rocker guards and
bumpers. Then I bought a rubicon!! That
jeep was awesome. Wheeled it once or
twice at Rausch Creek in NE PA and it made
a couple reds in stock form! But then
gas went through the roof and we needed
another grocery getter that was good on
gas so traded the rubicon
(dumb..dumb...dumb!) on...you guessed
it..another corolla!
