JEEP HISTORY
This is my first XJ, I haven't really
started modding it yet, but it has already
been hell, first off, the day I bought the
jeep the check gauges light came on, no
oil pressure at warm idle, this being my
first jeep I knew nothing about the bad
head on the later model Cherokees, so I
continued to drive it until I had bad over
heating problems (which was only a couple
days) and had my local mechanic look at
it, he said it needed a new head gasket so
I got it replaced, still, check gauges
light was on, no oil pressure, long story
short I had a small crack between the 3rd
and 4th cylinder, it had already been
about 45 days since I bought it by the
time some work was done, phone calls were
made, and slacking occurred before i
realized it needed a whole new head. Lemon
laws had already gone too long for those
to work and i had no warranty so I was
EFFFED! So, the stealership that i payed
$8,000 dollars for the jeep at (after a
lot of arguing and threats) gave back
$1,300 towards my new head. I had a jasper
rebuilt engine put in, so right about now
the jeep has cost me $11,000. So then, I
had the jeep for about 2 weeks with my
rebuilt motor before I rear ended a
corolla, insurance took care of me but
still $500 down the drain...THEN I had to
jump it one night because my $8000 dollar
hunk of sh** didnít even have a good
battery, and when I shut the hood, it
didnít latch, hood flew up in my face at
50 mph and bent around the roof, so $200
more for a hood. Bottom line is I got
ripped off by the dealership, and have
just had bad luck since I bought this
thing. But itís okay, fixing the scrapes
and bruises and turning this into the XJ
Iíve always wanted.
