JEEP HISTORY
I've always liked Wranglers, but didn't
bother on getting one due to the choppy
ride when I drove my friend's YJ.
Now, having a couple of toddlers who
like riding and cruising around with an
open top, I desperately needed a 4-seater
convertible. Then, I thought about
the Wrangler again. Supposed to have
bought a 2008 JK but didn't come into
terms with the overpricing of the local
stealership. Then test drove a TJ
Unlimited and, even though still crude,
was surprised at the improvements and
refinement, specially the ride, compared
to my friend's YJ that I've driven several
times in the past. So, I bought it. Not
my first SUV/4x4, but my first Jeep. And
I'm really having a lot of fun with
it! Well, I did like the early Grand
Cherokees during those days. And I've
occasionally borrowed another friend's
8-cyl GC. I've also considered the
Commander as a family car, which I decided
against due to the extremely cramped 3rd
row seating, and ended up with a Land
Rover LR3 for that purpose. When I was
a kid, my grandfather had something like a
Willys Wagoneer (with a face that is
unmistakeably Jeep) that had dropped us
off and picked us up at school. I guess I
can say that is my first experience with
Jeeps.

Hafa Adai!

I spent 5 years in Guam while in the Navy. It was a great place. Tons of friends still live there. I may be Haole, but my heart is still in Guam.

Shoot!
