First Jeep was a 1979 Jeep J 10, did a
full restoration, 2 engine swaps and then
beat it up off roading so I parted it out.
Next was a 1980 CJ5 which I am in the
process of doing the same to. Now I'm
building a 94 YJ, cost $900, body was in
decent shape, motor was hydyo-locked when
I bought it, bent rod #5, Broke rod #1,
trans was toast. Built a stroker (died, in
process of building another one that
doesn't have 250k miles on the block), put
a new-ish AX-15 in it that I found in my
(junk)yard. 4" Rusty's Lift kit,
bought a used SYE a new Tom Woods rear
shaft and swiped some mostly bald, used
35s off a buddy of mine. I made a custom
rear frame crossmember out of 4x2 channel
and to prove how strong it is, the very
next day some lady decided to t-bone the
rear passenger corner right on the new
crossmember and no damage at all was done
(to my Jeep at least) :)
