Well, I'm not right up on the Grands. What transfer case does it have? I know some had the 242 like mine does. In any case, I guess I would start by checking the linkage. After that, I guess you'd have to open it up and have a look. I don't know if a worn chain would cause those particular symptoms, but it is a possibility.

Did you post the question in the GC forum? I'm sure there are folks there that might have more input. Good luck!

Hey bro I'm down in Rhode Island and wonder if you can help with a prob... 2001 grand, 110,000 miles when trying to get back out of 4 wheel a loud clunk followed by some whirring sounds and takes a few back and forths to disengage.... seems to be getting worse. any thoughts and dollar amounts to fix if possible. Thanks man for your help
