Well my father and his younger brother
started the Jeep and off road interest
throughout my family. He had a 1956 Willys
in which he purchased gray US Navy surplus
battleship paint for on the cheap and
mixed it with some blue toner and
proceeded to put it on with a roller! I'll
tell you what, it didn't scratch easily!
He and his brother would switch off and
plow driveways with it and occasionally
wheel it in the Northeastern PA region.
They used it so much that the floor rotted
under the passenger seat and the gas pedal
wore off. Soon enough there was just the
peg left to press with your foot! Soon
after the Jeep was sadly sold for unknown
reasons. However, he must have still had
the jeep craze in him because after
countless hours of hard work, he decided
to go in with me on purchasing a used 1993
Wrangler Sport soon after I got my
driver's license! It has since been over 5
years since that memorable day. The Jeep
has been wheeling all over PA and NY
including parks such as Paragon and Rausch
Creek. It is on it's second 2.5L and Dana
35 and can be deemed a mutt as it has
parts on it from 91 thru 97. Maintaining
and upgrading it has kept me busy for the
past 5 years. It was built to be an all
around vehicle. All day trail rides, rock
crawling comps, shows, mud bogs, camping
trips, and moving to college!
