My interest in Jeeps began in my youth.
My Grandfather owned a red CJ3 with white
hard top from the late 50's to mid 60's.
He used it for his landscaping business in
Montreal. Enjoyed going for rides with
him. As a young lad, I had toy Jeeps
including Tonka (still have it) and from
GI Joe. Watched "Rat Patrol" on
TV. I learned to drive standard in the
Canadian Army on a 68 Kaiser M38A1 Jeep.
Used them extensively off road for recce,
with a 7.62 mm GPMG mounted over the
folded windscreen (by the front passenger
position). Bought my first Jeep in 1987,
a red YJ with gray hard top. Kept that
for about 5 years, then bought a 1986 Jeep
Grand Wagoneer in maroon. Then became
interested in Land Rovers for many years.
Just bought a 2008 JK Wrangler 6 speed in
Jeep Green with black hard top. Back in
the Jeep family and enjoying my new ride.
