My dad had a US Postal Service Jeep
(steering wheel on right hand side) when I
was a kid. He let me pick the color it got
painted (metal flake green). I didn't like
the Jeep that much because it was not four
wheel drive. Fast forward thirty years,
this month my coworker sold me his 88 YJ.
It has 215,000 miles on the original
drivetrain and it still runs good. Of
course I have already found two other
motors for it; AMC 304 (from another
Jeep), and AMC 360 (from a Javelin AMX).
The YJ that I begin my Jeep adventure with
is in GREAT condition with all stock other
than some Stainless Steel trim and the
Howell controlled GM TBI fuel delivery
conversion. It came with the original jack
and tire iron stowed under the hood and
the owners manual in the glove box. Hard
top, Five Jeep logo alloy wheels and new
rubber, it only has one bad dent on the
right rear corner, nothing a corner guard
cant cover up.
