JEEP HISTORY
I have Loved Jeeps since i was a kid. My
dad drove one in Europe during WW2, he
would tell me the coolest stories about
how amazing the little Jeep was. And the
old guy down the street had one in his
driveway rusting away, that I used to jump
in it and pretend I was off roading all
the time! I got my first Jeep in 1985, a
'46 2A (Dad was Stoked) I replaced the
body, sand blasted the frame, and
basically rebuilt everything except the
engine. The little flathead ran like a
champ. After a while I converted it with a
Buick 231 V6, TH350, power steering, rear
fuel tank, and 1" lift Rancho
springs. Wish I had kept the flathead! My
next Jeep was a '67 Jeepster commando I
picked up in '94, it had the 225 V6, and I
put in a TH350 but otherwise all stock.
Sold them both by 1999. In 2010 I got my
current Jeep, a 1980 CJ5, 258, power
steering/brakes I have been building it up
ever since. I put in a 4:1 T19/Dana 20,
rear dana 44. I welded up my front and
rear bumpers with swing away tire carrier.
This is my bucket list Jeep, the one I
have always dreamed of owing/building. I
am kinda old school.....I think Cool Jeeps
are built not bought.
