JEEP HISTORY
Bought first Jeep in 1995. It was a 4-cyl
and I had it lifted with 32's. I knew
nothing at the time about gears, etc. and
I worked an hour from home so the drive
with stock gears was brutal. I traded it
for a pickup but finally in 2000, I bought
a 1979 Cherokee Chief rust bucket and the
Jeepin' bug stuck. I learned A LOT while
working on it but it was too huge and I
wanted a "real Jeep" so I sold
the FSJ and bought a 1967 CJ-5. I lifted
it and put on 32's. It was a good beach
buggy but the F-head was not powerful
enough to push 32's around the trails. In
2003 I sold a house and had enough money
to buy an 1988 YJ. I loved it because of
the "old school" features such
as the 4.2 and the diagonal roll bars. I
ended up trading the CJ-5 for a screen
enclosure on my back porch and devoted all
my time to the YJ. I was in the process of
a 4.0 swap but got sidetracked by my wife
expecting a baby. So, I was Jeepless for
about seven years and then stumbled onto a
1971 Jeepster Commando for a good deal but
unfortunately the transmission was toast.
Got it back together and working on
upgrading it as time and $$$ allow. I also
started the Matanzas Jeep 4x4 Club with a
buddy from work and Jeeps have ended up
consuming most of my free time and any
extra money I have.

Did you have to go with locking hubs or are you able to run with the auto hubs still?

Nice Jeep man. How do you like the Lock Right in the fron? I've been thinking of doing one myself.
